EXCEPTIONAL RATES
- How do Simplicity Dial 1 Long Distance rates compare with other long distance carriers?
- Our rates are among the lowest in the industry. AmeriCom's mission is to provide the most competitive rates and best customer service available.
- What about "Night Time" and "Evening" rates?
- There are no Night Time or Evening rate periods. Published rates are effective 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- What about calls within my state?
- In-state rates vary depending on the state. To find out the rate for your state, click on the "In-state Rates" button.
- Must I specify which phone numbers, or what calling areas I will be using to get these rates?
- There are no restrictions and no limitations. You may call any state-to-state number in the continental U.S. for the same low rate. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are higher.
- Are there any monthly minimums or quotas I must meet to get these rates?
- Simplicity 3.9 Long Distance has unconditionally NO monthly minimums, fees, or quotas (excluding FCC regulated PICC charges, which apply to business accounts with more than one line only, and taxes).
- How much is your federal PICC charge?
- The federal PICC charge is $4.31 per line and only applies to multi-line businesses. There are no PICC charges for residential accounts.

- How does line quality compare?
- Simplicity Dial 1 calls are carried only on 100% fiber-optic networks nationwide, providing exceptional line clarity.
- What about the long distance operator?
- Courteous and knowledgeable customer service representatives are available 24 hours a day. In addition, Long Distance Operators are also available 24 hours a day. Simply dial 00.
- What about my bill, will it still come from my local phone company.
- No. You will receive a more complete and detailed itemization of your long distance usage under separate cover.
- Who do I call with questions about this service?
- Sales Support is available during business hours Mountain Time at 1-800-820-6296, Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 6:00PM, or you may send us email at support@americom.com.
- How long will it take to get changed over?
- Usually within five to seven working days.
- How will I know when I am switched?
- You will be switched to one of our two long distance carriers; Qwest or Williams. Dial 1(700) 555-4141. When you hear "Thank you for making ***** your long distance company.", referring to your new carrier, you are switched. Once you are connected, your local phone bill will show the date you were connected.
- Can I just call my local telephone company and tell them to switch me to you?
- In order to give you the best rates possible, we need to receive and process your order. Once we have done this, our technicians will contact your local carrier to switch your service. Do not call your local phone company to have them switch your lines without first receiving notification from us.
- Can I set up unique account codes?
- Yes! Once you have completed your on-line order, please contact our customer-service representatives for instructions to set up your own unique account codes.
CONVENIENT DIALING
- Are there any cities I cannot reach?
- Every city in the United States is reachable, including (at slightly higher rates) cities in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Also, if you are interested in great Canadian rates please see our International Calling Plans .
- What about International calls?
- Our International Rates are the lowest in the industry. You may call any country at our unbeatable rates with no restrictions, and no setup.
- Do you reimburse me for any switching fees incurred?
- Yes, we will credit your account for switching fees charged by your local phone company to switch your long distance. This covers the typical $5 switching fee that most local phone companies charge. To receive your credit, all you have to do is mail us a copy of the invoice detailing the switching costs and a credit will post to your long distance account.
- What is your billing increment?
- We bill in 6 second increments with an 18 second minimum, so once the call is connected you are immediately billed for the first 18 seconds, or 1.2 cents.
TOLL-FREE SERVICE
- What is your payphone surcharge?
- The FCC mandates a payphone surcharge of 65¢ per call for toll-free numbers. This surcharge is also billed to you for calling card calls made from a payphone.
LOCAL SERVICE
- Are there any other fees I should expect to see on my bill?
- There are a number of fees that appear on your bill regardless of which carrier you choose. These include Federal Excise Tax, NANPA fund, FCC Common Carrier Fee, Network Access Charge, E-911, Local Number Portability (LNP), Service Line Charge and State Taxes and surcharges. These fees typically amount to a small percentage (less than 10%) for long distance service, and some fees such as the service line charge are only applied to local service accounts.
- Do you offer voicemail?
- Voicemail will be available in the near future.
- How much is the Service Line Charge?
- The service line charge is $6.50. This is only for Local Service orders, long distance service has no monthly fees associated with it.
- What features are included with the Simplicity Local Premiere local calling plan?
- Caller ID with name, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding in areas where those features are available. Plan pricing reflects availability.
